UK School Admissions Specialists
Helping international families navigate UK school admissions with confidence
Choosing the right school is the first step. Our consultants help parents understand the options available, identify the right fit for their child, and navigate the application and admissions process, including exam invigilation and a tailored programme of academic preparation.
Our Step-by-Step Process
-
1. Book an Initial Consultation
We begin the process with a free 20 minute call which enables us to understand the specific requirements of your family, your objectives, where you are in the journey so far and your key criteria for schools.
The consultation will take place with one of our expert team and will be the starting point for our work with your family.
-
2. Academic Assessment
Our industry-leading academic assessments help us understand how your child is currently performing across the full range of disciplines tested during the school entrance process. It provides excellent practice for UKiset, CAT4, ISEB Pretest and 11+ exams and benchmarks your child against their peers in the UK.
Detailed reporting shapes a personalised strategy for school choice and preparation.
-
3. Consultation and Pathway Planning
A detailed consultation combines the results of the assessment with information from the initial conversation, enabling us to advise on school choices, create a longlist, and put together a comprehensive pathway plan that covers open days and admissions, as well as academic preparation.
Further consultations can then be arranged for every step of the journey, as you require.
-
4. Preparation & Performance
Our tuition programmes are entirely bespoke and tailored towards the levels of your child, schools they are aiming for and the timeframe. They are flexible, adapting to changing needs as the process goes on and supporting your child throughout.
As part of our academic preparation, we also arrange online test practice, mock interviews and mock exams where necessary.
Why Choose British Tutors for UK School Admissions?
UK School Selection for International Families
Choosing a UK school from overseas can be particularly challenging. We help international families understand the landscape and identify schools that genuinely suit their child, rather than simply focusing on the most competitive or prestigious names. We consider academic profile, personality, interests and family priorities, as well as each school’s admissions process, entry point and expectations.
Expert Assessment & Interview Preparation
From 7+ and 8+ to 11+, 13+ and 16+, we understand the different entrance routes and what leading UK independent schools are looking for. We provide targeted preparation for ISEB, UKiset, CAT4, Common Entrance and school-specific assessments, alongside interview coaching and mock interviews.
Integrated Consultancy & Tutoring
Unlike many school admissions consultancies, we can support both the admissions strategy and the academic preparation. Our experienced tutoring team works alongside our consultants to identify gaps, build confidence and prepare each child for the particular assessments they will face.
Long-Term Admissions Planning
The strongest school applications are rarely built at the point of application. We help families plan ahead, identifying the right school, entry point and preparation programme and providing ongoing guidance as the admissions process develops.

CAT4 (Cognitive Abilities Test) is an assessment used by many international schools to evaluate reasoning and thinking skills across verbal, non-verbal, quantitative and spatial areas.
-
Not always. Our first step is understanding your child’s current profile, strengths and areas for development. Where beneficial, we may recommend targeted preparation or tuition aligned with your child’s chosen schools and admissions timeline.

Interview preparation is tailored to the child’s age and target schools. We help children build confidence, improve communication skills, and become comfortable responding thoughtfully in interview settings through structured preparation and mock interviews.
