Child Safeguarding at British Tutors

Nothing matters more than your child’s safety

At British Tutors, safeguarding is not just a box we tick, it’s the foundation of everything we do. The safety, dignity and wellbeing of the children in our care is our highest priority, and we are committed to creating a learning environment where children feel supported, respected and safe at all times.

We follow a robust, zero-tolerance safeguarding policy that goes far beyond compliance. Developed in consultation with Save the Children Hong Kong, our policy ensures that every tutor, team member, and partner upholds the highest standards in child safety, whether lessons take place in person or online.

Key measures we take

  • Rigorous recruitment: All tutors are carefully screened, reference-checked, and vetted for their suitability to work with children.

  • Ongoing safeguarding training: Every member of staff receives safeguarding training, with regular updates to stay ahead of best practices.

  • Code of conduct: Our tutors follow a clear and strict code of conduct to ensure professional, respectful and appropriate interactions at all times.

  • Safe online learning: Online lessons are conducted with the same level of scrutiny and safety as in-person sessions, using secure platforms and privacy-aware protocols.

  • Clear reporting processes: Any concern, however small, is taken seriously. We have a structured, confidential reporting system to ensure prompt and appropriate action.

  • Respect for privacy: We handle all personal data with care, in accordance with local laws and data protection regulations in both Hong Kong and Singapore.

A culture of care

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. From tutors and administrators to our leadership team, we foster a culture where vigilance and compassion work together. Parents can be confident that we approach every lesson not just as educators, but as trusted adults in a child’s world.
